Honor Yoga Starts New Therapeutics Program

Honor Yoga is excited to announce that next week they will be adding an extraordinary new program to their already prestigious list of offerings. Introducing Honor Yoga Therapeutics, a program that will provide a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment for people, regardless of ability or health challenge, to experience the benefits of yoga.

Honor Yoga Therapeutics is designed to make yoga accessible and available to anyone who wants to benefit from the practice of yoga, while recovering from, or living with, any injury or illness. The program will focus on providing modifications and options for each participants own yoga practice, as well as developing an improvement in the balance of the body and mind with breath work (pranayama), poses (asana), and meditation. It will empower students to improve their health and well-being through the teachings and practice of yoga, all based on their particular needs and conditions.

Liz Alvarez will be the Director of the Honor Yoga Therapeutics program. Liz completed her 200-hour teacher training in order to deepen her yoga practice, without the intention of ever teaching yoga.
As a Robbinsville resident, she happily came to Honor Yoga as a student and quickly fell in love with the Honor community, which helped her tap in to her inner teacher.

With over 22 years of experience as a physical therapist, she has always been interested in teaching alignment, anatomy and making yoga accessible to everyone, regardless of previous injuries, illnesses or misconceptions, because yoga is for every body! Liz focuses on injury prevention and providing individualized modifications to students who need them. She teaches Yoga Anatomy in the Honor Yoga 200 hour Teacher Training program, and continues to expand her knowledge in this area, as well as in therapeutic yoga. She is also a member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT).
Honor Yoga Therapeutics will offer specialized workshops, small group classes, and one on one private instruction at student’s homes or in Honor’s beautiful studios located throughout Central New Jersey. The intimate setting will address the specific needs of each student or special group to encourage health and healing.
