HARTFORD, CT -- Personal trainers have stopped working at four Connecticut Work Out World locations that have filed for bankruptcy in the past year.
The attorney for the owner of the four clubs says the trainers will not return, according to a report on TV station WFSB in Hartford, CT. Professional Fitness, a North Carolina-based company that employs the personal trainers, did not comply with the terms of an agreement it had with Work Out World, the attorney told the TV station.
A new group of trainers has been hired to honor the contracts of the clubs’ members, some of whom are demanding their money be returned, according to the report.
Stephen P. Roma, owner of nine Work Out World locations in New Jersey, says his clubs have a different brand and utilize a separate Web site, www.workoutworld.com, than the licensed Work Out World clubs in question in Connecticut, which can be found at www.wowhealthclubs.com.
“At our owned clubs (in New Jersey), our personal trainers are full-time employees providing more than 5,000 personal training sessions per month to our members,” Roma says.
