EL SEGUNDO, CA -- Spectrum Athletic Clubs once again hired a CEO with roots in The Wellbridge Co.
Bud Rockhill was recently announced as Spectrum’s president and CEO. Rockhill, who has served in the fitness and wellness industry for more than 25 years, was one of three owners of Colorado-based Club Sports International—now known as The Wellbridge Co. Clubs Sports grew to more than 40 clubs and created more than $100 million in revenue during his tenure there.
Rockhill replaces Matthew Stevens, who left Spectrum last year to become the president and CEO of Western Athletic Clubs. Stevens served as an executive at The Wellbridge Co. before coming to Spectrum.
In the late 1990s, Rockhill left The Wellbridge Co. to become the CEO of Destination Cinema, an affiliate of National Geographic that owns IMAX theaters in select locations. Most recently, Rockhill was the president of Colorado-based Westwood College Online, a company that doubled its revenue in two years.
Rockhill has taught at the International Health, Racquet and Sportsclub Association (IHRSA) Management Institute. He also has published management articles for various industry publications and served as an advisor for fitness and spa companies.
“I’m thrilled to be on board with the Spectrum Clubs team,” Rockhill said in a statement. “Spectrum has a tradition of excellence, and I’m very much looking forward to building on that tradition in a time that Spectrum is expanding its presence.”
Spectrum, headquartered in El Segundo, CA, has 11 locations in San Antonio and 12 locations in Southern California.Want to use this article? Click here for options!
