HOUSTON -- Shaun Kelley, who has been linked to the Roger Clemens steroids case, has closed his Shaun Kelly Weight Control center in Houston.
Kelley closed his business Tuesday after filing for bankruptcy, Houston TV station KTRK reports. Kelley told the station he is no longer interested in the fitness industry and has been approached about a business venture with a food company.
Kelley also told the station that he will continue to help clients but will not refund any money. A nearby gym has taken in Kelley’s clients and trainers, he says.
In 2008, Kelley was named a person of interest in a case to determine whether or not Clemens, a baseball star who has since retired from the game, had lied under oath to Congress when he said that he never used performance-enhancing drugs. Kelley said he had met Clemens a couple of times but that Clemens had never been to Kelley’s center, according to reports.
