RICHMOND, VA -- A man was found dead early Thursday morning in a swimming pool at an American Family Fitness center in Richmond, VA.
The body of 31-year-old Paul Osborne was found floating face-down in the pool shortly before 3 a.m., according to the Richmond Times-Dispatch. The club’s manager, Jill Lakey, told the newspaper that Osborne, a member and a frequent late-night swimmer, was already dead when he was found, despite efforts by the club’s staff to resuscitate him.
Lakey also told the newspaper that the club has signage that states the club does not post lifeguards at the pool.
“It’s posted and we don’t intend on changing that,” she said.
The club announced on its Web site that all pools at its West End location were closed until further notice.
Police do not suspect foul play, the newspaper reported.Want to use this article? Click here for options!
