Planet Fitness has reached an agreement with NBC to become the official gym sponsor of the reality TV show “The Biggest Loser.”
Planet Fitness logos and branded equipment will appear on the show beginning in January, the Newington, NH-based company announced today. The club also will air commercials during “The Biggest Loser” episodes and other NBC prime-time programming from January through May.
24 Hour Fitness, San Ramon, CA, had sponsored “The Biggest Loser” for nine seasons since the show’s inception in 2004 until last year. The company says it still works with the show on a case-by-case basis to provide personal training and memberships.
“We had a fruitful partnership with NBC’s ‘The Biggest Loser’ for nine seasons,” a company spokesperson said today, “and we helped dozens of contestants to become healthier and fit by providing them with memberships, personal training and Bodybuggs. We still have a great relationship with the show and still partner with them from time to time.”
Season 12 of “The Biggest Loser” airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. Eastern on NBC.
