CHARLOTTE, NC -- The Better Business Bureau in Charlotte, NC, listed troubled Peak Fitness on its 2009 “Dirty Dozen” list of worst-rated businesses in the Southern Piedmont area of North Carolina and South Carolina.
Peak Fitness is fourth on the list, which ranks the businesses with the most unanswered complaints from Jan. 1, 2009, to Dec. 31, 2009.
Peak Fitness, which filed for bankruptcy last July, had 17 unanswered complaints in 2009 and 222 total complaints in the last 36 months.
No. 1 on the list is L.A. Weight Loss Centers, which abruptly closed all 10 Southern Piedmont locations on Dec. 11, 2008. The company had 205 unanswered complaints in 2009 and 222 total complaints in the last 36 months.
