Mountainside Fitness, Tempe, AZ, plans for expansion in Scottsdale, AZ, with a new club and expansion of an existing club, the company announced.
Mountainside will open a 35,000-square-foot club in late winter 2011. The club will have a resort-like feel, providing members with 75 pieces of cardio equipment featuring personalized TVs and iPod docking stations, locker rooms, full-service child care, a basketball court, a rock climbing wall, an extensive strength floor, kids fitness programs, a café, a movie theater lounge and many other amenities. The club will offer 80 free group classes each week. Pre-sale memberships will begin in September. The company expects to hire 100 staff members prior to the opening.
Mountainside also will expand its current Scottsdale platinum location by adding 4,000 square feet for a sports-specific training area, a new café and a cycle room. In addition, the strength area, child care area and men’s and women’s locker rooms will be enhanced.
“Our brand fills an underserved need for a high-value, full-service fitness center in the Scottsdale area,” said Billy Malkovich, CEO of Mountainside Fitness. “With a focus on service, amenities and the largest offering of group classes in the Valley, we are excited to bring the Mountainside experience to a new audience.”
Mountainside has eight locations in Arizona and one in Colorado.
