OVERLAND PARK, KS -- Mark Mastrov will be the second-day keynote speaker at the Club Industry conference and trade show in October.
Mastrov, the founder of 24 Hour Fitness and now principal at New Evolution Fitness Co., will speak at 11:45 a.m. on Oct. 16 at the McCormick Place Convention Center in Chicago. His presentation will follow the Best of the Best awards presentation, which recognizes various programs at U.S. fitness facilities.
Mastrov left 24 Hour Fitness more than a year ago. In January, he announced plans to open health clubs in partnership with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), a mixed martial arts organization. He also is working on an agreement to purchase Crunch, which filed for bankruptcy this spring.
Mastrov is one of two big-name speakers at the conference this year. Jack LaLanne, fitness icon, will present the keynote address on Oct. 15 after receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award from Club Industry’s Fitness Business Pro magazine. Both keynote addresses are free to all attendees.
Registration is still open for the annual conference and trade show.
