The Ship Shape Fitness Center, Malvern, PA, won an Award of Excellence for its Ship Shape Survivor program, a motivational program created to encourage participants to increase physical activity and make healthy choices to maintain or lose weight. The facility, which is managed by L&T Health and Fitness, had 62 percent participation. Fifty percent of participants maintained or lost weight.

Washington, DC-based Judiciary Fitness Association, also managed by L&T Health and Fitness, won for its Cardio Pumpkin Launch program. This incentive program increased daily usage by 10 percent and membership by 5 percent.

MACMA also named four health and fitness professionals to receive scholarships from the American Council on Exercise, the National Academy of Sports Medicine, the National Council on Strength and Fitness, and Power Systems.
