CHICAGO — Lakeshore Athletic Club (LAC) Streeterville hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate its grand opening on Thursday, Nov. 14.
LAC had been working on the $4 million renovation project to convert the former McClurg Court Sport & Tennis Club, which opened in 1972, into LAC Streeterville since June 2002.
“Lakeshore is excited to be able to expand its service within Chicago,” said Mickey Sons, executive vice president, Lakeshore Management Group. “Our Streeterville members will now be able to take advantage of the high quality service that has been synonymous with our clubs for the past 30 years.”
The club features a new fitness center, which includes an extensive free weight area and cardio floor. It also has new men and women's locker rooms complete with cherry wood lockers, new wet areas and lounges. The club also has a new lobby, pro shop, group exercise studio and spa treatment rooms.
