Crunch, New York, which has had pole fitness classes since 2004, has launched a new accredited pole fitness training program.
The X-Pert Pole Fitness training program is accredited by the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) and the American Council on Exercise (ACE) and is endorsed by the Pole Fitness Association. Participants in the two-day, 16-hour program will receive 1.6 ACE and 10 AFAA continuing education credits, among other items. The cost of registration is $599.
The training teaches a general standard of safety and technique by breaking down each section of a pole fitness class, from how to properly set up a pole to dance choreography and exercise science.
Developed by Crunch and pole manufacturer X-Pole, the program was created by Kyra Johannesen, Marlo Fisken and Michelle Stanek.
In other Crunch news, the company’s corporate club in Daly City, CA, opened April 1, and two Crunch franchise clubs are in the planning stages in Wayne, NJ, and El Cajon, CA.
