The keynote speakers for the Club Industry 2011 show have been confirmed. Marketing guru John Moore will speak Thursday, Oct. 13, at McCormick Place Convention Center in Chicago, and TV trainer Chris Powell will take the stage on the following day at the same location.

During his decade in senior marketing positions at Starbucks Coffee Co. and Whole Foods Market, Moore helped shift those brands’ marketing strategies from traditional advertising to using the influence of their devoted customers as advertising vehicles.

In 2005, Moore launched his Brand Autopsy marketing practice to help companies identify and correct their marketing problems. He also educates businesses on effective word-of-mouth marketing and has authored two books.

Chris Powell first came to national attention via a moving TLC documentary in which he helped motivate a man to achieve the largest and fastest natural weight loss ever documented (401 pounds in 26 months), and through subsequent appearances on "The Oprah Winfrey Show," "20/20," and "The View.”

Powell, who holds a degree in exercise science and is a certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS), currently can be seen on the ABC reality show "Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition," where he again is using his training and unique motivational tactics to help extremely overweight individuals transform their bodies and their lives.
