Curt Beusman, founder of Saw Mill Clubs, will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award from Club Industry magazine at the Club Industry show in October.
OVERLAND PARK, KS -- Curt Beusman, founder of Saw Mill Clubs, is the recipient of Club Industry’s 2010 Lifetime Achievement Award.
Beusman will receive the award on Oct. 7 at the Club Industry conference in Chicago.
Beusman began his professional career as a nuclear engineer before he founded Curtis Instruments and started several other businesses, including two indoor commercial tennis facilities, a radio station, a restaurant and a physical therapy studio.
The Saw Mill Club began as a tennis club but eventually grew into a multi-sport health and fitness club that includes swimming pools, basketball, racquetball, squash, group exercise and more. Beusman expanded the brand, adding three more clubs.
Beusman was a founder of the International Health, Racquet and Sportsclub Association. He is a past president of the National Tennis Association and founded the Greater Westchester Indoor Tennis Association. He consulted, lectured and spoke nationwide as well as in England and Venezuela on the topic of fitness club management.
