OVERLAND PARK, KS -- The entries have been collected, the contestants have been judged, and the results have been tallied. After much deliberation, this year’s Best of the Best recipients for Club Industry’s Fitness Business Pro magazine were announced for best behavior modification program, children’s program, community-based or nonmember program, and new member integration program.
This year’s winners include the Wyckoff Family YMCA in Wyckoff, NJ, for its behavior modification program; Minton’s Sportsplex in Texarkana, TX, for its children’s program; and Big Vanilla Athletic Club in Arnold, MD, for its new member integration program. In addition to those recipients, Bodyworks Family Sports Centers, Lubbock, TX, won for its best community-based or nonmember program for the second year in a row.
The winners will receive their awards between 11:30 a.m. and 11:45 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 17, as part of Club Industry 2008, Oct. 15-18 in Chicago. Following the awards presentation, Rick Caro, president of Management Vision Inc. in New York, will moderate the panel discussion “Fitness Business at a Crossroad: How to Hold on in Today’s Economy and Prosper in the Future.” The awards presentation is sponsored by SportsArt Fitness.
