HASTINGS, MN -- Anytime Fitness has formed a partnership with the American College of Sports Medicine’s (ACSM) Exercise is Medicine program.
The Exercise is Medicine program is an initiative focused on encouraging physicians and health care providers to include exercise when designing treatment plans for patients or to refer them to fitness professionals for exercise counseling in health clubs.
As a sponsor of the Exercise is Medicine program, Anytime Fitness, Hastings, MN, will provide health screenings in its clubs, offer discounts and rewards for members who bring a completed exercise “prescription form” from their health care provider, and set up Exercise is Medicine fitness events, such as walk-a-thons and bike-a-thons.
“We see ourselves as true agents of lifestyle and behavior change,” Chuck Runyon, president and co-founder of Anytime Fitness, said in a statement. “It’s about living a healthier life where you feel great in addition to looking it.”
In a separate collaboration, Anytime Fitness is joining forces with the Mayo Clinic Health Policy Center and its HealthCare Repair campaign.
“We want to help our members get the best health care possible and lead lives that are active and fulfilling,” Mark Daly, Anytime Fitness’ national media director, said in a statement. “HealthCare Repair seeks to improve patient outcomes and satisfaction by coordinating services and decreasing medical errors, costs and waste.”Want to use this article?
