KITTERY, ME -- Several fitness franchises were named as winners of Franchise Business Review’s 2009 Franchisee Satisfaction Awards. The 115 winning companies were listed as having very strong franchisee satisfaction.

For the fourth year in a row, Anytime Fitness was selected as a winner. Personal Training Institute and HIT Sports Training also made the list this year.

“The award confirms what we've been saying for a long time now -- that owning an Anytime Fitness club is a great way to make a living,” Chuck Runyon, Anytime Fitness president and co-founder, said in a statement from his company. “The financial benefits can be rewarding, but just as importantly, our franchisees love what they do and they have a lot of free time to enjoy whatever else makes them happy. At the end of the day, that's what really matters.”

This marks the fourth consecutive year that Franchise Business Review has given out the awards. The firm said it researched more than 400 franchise brands for the study.

“Anytime Fitness has outstanding ratings by their franchisees, and the fact that their franchisee satisfaction has increased during these challenging economic times is evidence of their strong franchise system and recession-resistant business model,” Eric Stites, president and CEO of Franchise Business Review, said in a statement from his company.
