A man who was stabbed in the parking lot of a 24 Hour Fitness club in Buena Park, CA, has died.

A spokesperson from 24 Hour confirmed the death, saying the Buena Park Police Department informed the San Ramon, CA-based company that the 24 Hour member died early Wednesday at UC Irvine Medical Center, where he was transported by ambulance Tuesday night.

“24 Hour Fitness is deeply saddened to learn of the loss of one of our members, and we extend our condolences to his family and friends,” the company said in a statement. “Out of respect for the member’s privacy, we are unable to provide additional details. The welfare and security of our club and team members are top priorities for 24 Hour Fitness, and additional security has been added to the club parking lot.”

According to local media reports, 22-year-old Brian Lee of Buena Park was reported screaming for help in the 24 Hour parking lot outside a Buena Park mall after he was stabbed several times in his upper body. The incident occurred shortly after 10 p.m. Tuesday. The suspects, officials say, are four men who were dressed in dark-colored clothing. They were seen leaving the mall in a dark-colored four-door sedan.

24 Hour encourages anyone who saw the stabbing or who has any information related to the incident to call the Buena Park Police Department at (714) 562-3901.
