Vice president of Health & Wellness Services at Akron General Health & Wellness Center, Akron, OH
Doug Ribley has been active in the delivery and administration of health, fitness and wellness programs and facilities for 25 years. He has worked in the corporate, commercial and hospital-based arenas.
He was instrumental in the development, and has been responsible for the day-to-day operation of, the award-winning Akron General Health & Wellness Center. This project emphasizes prevention, early detection, rehabilitation, and outpatient treatment in a unique, clinically integrated environment.
Ribley has been instrumental in the development of several hospital wellness center projects throughout the country and is responsible for additional Akron General satellite wellness centers, including the Stow Health & Wellness Center that opened in June 2007.
Ribley was an appointed member of the Ohio State Governor's Council on Physical Fitness, Wellness and Sports, is a past president and chairman of the Medical Fitness Association. He is a frequent author, speaker and wellness center consultant.
