Continuing its steady expansion, David Barton Gym has signed a long-term, 19,000-square-foot lease at the Boston Park Plaza Hotel & Towers. The fitness brand’s new location, comprised of below grade retail space with a ground floor entrance, is its first in Massachusetts and will complement its existing locations in New York, Las Vegas, Miami, and Chicago.
David Barton Gym has become a fixture among top brands and is known for combining the pulse of a neighborhood gym with the soul of the local culture. From each facility’s unique design and lighting to its signature energizing music and motivational instructors, David Barton Gym has proved to be a one-of-a-kind experience and is credited with pioneering the gym-with-a-club vibe concept.
“The Boston Park Plaza is currently undergoing significant upgrades and is located in the heart of the city, making this a prime location for the new facility,” said Scott I. Edlitz, Senior Managing Director for the Retail Services Group at Colliers International’s New York office, who represented David Barton Gym in the transaction. “This lease is a sign of the brand’s steady growth and we are actively pursuing new opportunities to further its expansion into other major urban markets across the country.”
Edlitz also represented David Barton Gym in securing its New York City locations at The Limelight in Chelsea, which will open in the fall of 2014, and The Archive in the West Village.
The Boston Park Plaza is located at 50 Park Plaza and Arlington Street. It is conveniently three miles from Logan International Airport and directly across from America’s oldest public park, The Boston Common. It is also in close proximity to Faneuil Hall Marketplace, the Theatre & Financial Districts, popular shopping destinations along Newbury Street, and many Boston landmarks and historical monuments.
