The position of Fitness Director is a skilled and professional position that supervises the Fitness/Wellness activities of the Recreation Division in the LakeView RecPlex for the Village of Pleasant Prairie. This position reports directly to the Director of Recreation. The primary responsibilities of this position are, but not limited to, the provision of professional guidance for the Village and operational management and oversight of the Fitness/Wellness Division for the Village’s LakeView RecPlex and the Recreation Department.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelors Degree in Exercise Science, Health Education, Adult Fitness, Physical Education, Recreation or related field or a combination of experience and education in related field. A minimum of 5 years progressive experience in fitness and wellness program management, facility management as well as 5 years personnel management is required.

The LakeView RecPlex is a 138,000 square foot municipal recreation center constructed in 2000 that includes a 60,000 square foot athletic field house, 17,000 square foot aquatic center, and 8,000 square foot fitness center. The recreation center is located within an 800-acre park on the shores of a 110-acre spring fed lake. The Village of Pleasant Prairie is a fast growing community of 36 square miles and 18,000 residents located in southeastern Wisconsin between Milwaukee and Chicago with an easterly boundary of Lake Michigan, southern boundary of the Illinois state line and general westerly and northerly boundaries of I-94 and the City of Kenosha.
