Position Summary:
Serve as the unit manager for the fitness program, which includes over 80 group exercise/mind-body sessions and 24,000 square feet of strength and conditioning space with state of the art equipment. May include the personal training program. Personnel management responsibilities include oversight of two Assistant Directors, two graduate assistants, two program assistants and 75 hourly wage staff members. Other management responsibilities include strategic planning and coordinating unit needs for marketing/sponsorships, facility support, business affairs and member services with respective service directors. Serve as advisor to program advisory committees, serve on the division management team and facilitate designated Division assignments. The position reports directly to the Director of Campus Recreational Sports and Assistant Dean, School of HPER.

Qualifications:
Masters degree in recreation, exercise science, physical education or related field required. Minimum of 5 years of experience involving diverse fitness programming, supervising and mentoring professional staff, and fiscal management preferred; demonstrated verbal and written skills; demonstrated ability to work in a student development model and possess strong interpersonal and collaboration skills. American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) Health Fitness Instructor certification and the American Council on Exercise (ACE) Personal Trainer and/or Exercise Leader certification preferred.

If selected for an interview, you will be asked to provide three letters of recommendation and college transcripts. Salary range is $40,000-$55,000 for a 12-month position. Indiana University provides an excellent benefit package. Anticipated start date is July 1. The position will remain open until filled.
