Friendly, caring, close-knit, and community-based in the South Boston area, Caritas Norwood Hospital is a member of the Caritas Christi Health Care System, the second largest healthcare system in New England. We recently purchased a local fitness center — just two blocks from our main campus — and have expanded it into a medical fitness and wellness facility, which offers a complete array of exercise equipment, racquetball courts, lap pool, and saunas. Our staff includes instructors, personal and athletic trainers, and exercise physiologists. Our comprehensive services range from outpatient rehab, aquatic therapy, and sports medicine programs, to aerobic classes, yoga, and massage therapy. We also offer special programs such as screenings, educational forums, and clinics.

As a result of our growth, we now seek a qualified candidate to join us as a DAILY OPERATIONS &FITNESS MANAGER. Your duties will include:

  • Hiring, training, evaluating, scheduling, and overseeing all staff members
  • Maintaining payroll
  • Acting as a fitness instructor and educator for our members when needed
  • Developing marketing initiatives
  • Ensuring member retention
  • Designing a balanced program of fitness activities
  • Implementing strategic plans
  • Developing annual budgets
  • Selecting/purchasing equipment
  • Ensuring complete regulatory compliance
  • Resolving any member complaints
To qualify, you must have:
  • 5 years' fitness experience, including teaching responsibilities in various group exercise formats
  • 2 years' management experience
  • Background in developing/implementing disease management/medical fitness programming
  • Excellent interpersonal, business, and budgeting skills
  • CPR certification
  • ACSM certification a plus
  • Degree in Exercise Physiology, Athletic Training, or related field preferred
We offer a very attractive compensation package, plus free parking and easy access to the MBTA Commuter Rail.
