Wellbridge Gives Boulder the Treatment

Last week, I was in Boulder, CO, and had the pleasure of taking a tour of the new Colorado Athletic Club, managed by Wellbridge. It's actually one of two new facilities in Colorado for Wellbridge. (The other is in Denver.) The interior design fits right into the Boulder "outdoorsy" feel, using natural stone and earth tone colors.

And as JoAnna Masloski, promotions and communications director for Wellbridge, and Jill Shusterman, general manager for the club, told me, they have more plans for this site. What is now the parking lot will later be a heated 25-meter, six-lane saline pool with a heated deck so the hardy people of Boulder can test their swimming prowess outdoors in the dead of winter. The outdoor area also will feature a children's play pool and splash pad. In addition, the club will feature a wide variety of outdoor programming, including Triathlon Clubs and Mountain Yoga Retreats.

The 40,000-square-foot building hosts yoga and group fitness classes with dedicated yoga, Pilates and indoor cycling studios. It also has active, experiential learning for children as well as locker rooms, including one designed for families.

I'm excited for my next trip to the Boulder area--perhaps I can visit the Denver club or try out the heated pool then!
