Yes, I know that for most of you the month is still April, but for those of us in the magazine world, the month has been May for the past few weeks since we work at least a month ahead on each issue and often are working at different stages on a number of issues.
This morning, the staff had a great brainstorming session on headlines for the May issue, which we will wrap up next week along with our Buyers Guide. You'll see both in the mail by mid May.
For me, this month has also been June, July, August and September. I have been finding contacts for June features to send to our editors/writers and collecting all the Top 100 forms that are coming in for the July issue. In addition, I'm working on an angle for the insurance and cycling stories we'll run in August. Perhaps the most exciting project I have on my plate right now is selecting our Lifetime Achievement Award winner, who will be featured in September's issue (we've chosen our winner and I hope to be able to let you know who it is by the end of this week).
I'm also finishing the revised Best of the Best form so I can get that on the Web site for all you readers who want to enter. We've revised the contest a bit this year so watch for the new form soon! The winners will be listed in our September issue and featured on our Web site.
Who says summer is the time for vacations? I see some exciting projects on our plate during the next few months. I hope you enjoy reading them. -Pam
