Eric Sternlicht, president of Simply Fit, a nutrition and exercise consulting firm in Orange, CA, and an adjunct assistant professor in the department of kinesiology at Occidental College in Los Angeles, gave the eulogy at the Renaissance Club Sport Hotel in Aliso Viejo, CA.
Also in attendance were professional bodybuilders Tom Platz, Shawn Ray, John Brown, Kalman Szkalak, Boyer Coe and four-time Mr. Olympia Jay Cutler. Representatives from World Gym, Gold's Gym, Family Fitness, LA Fitness, Life Fitness, U-Max, Star Trac, Iron Grip and Matrix also attended, Nalley says.
Many of the other attendees were friends, family and employees who remembered Block from his decades working on the manufacturing side of the fitness business, Nalley says.
