Breakfast on Nob Hill

RSS

Getting up early in the morning for a workout has gotten fairly easy for me in the past few years as that's my chosen hour for my daily physical exertion involving a fair amount of sweat. However, this morning, I had a breakfast appointment so I allowed myself to skip my workout (besides, with as much walking as I did yesterday from session to appointment to hotel back to appointment, I figured that I'd already reached my 10,000 steps for several days in a row).

Instead, I caught a cab to Nob Hill for a breakfast meeting with Rachel Makofsky, senior marketing manager at Polar, and Kathleen Reynolds with the PR company for Polar. We talked about Polar's efforts to bring their monitoring equipment to more clubs, schools and other markets and about their program that figures out a person's true body age.

However, I soon found out that while I avoided my morning workout, Rachel had gotten up early enough to take a long jog around the neighborhood. And this isn't any regular neighborhood--this is Nob Hill. In case you didn't know it, it's called Nob Hill for a reason--it's a hill. I mean, a really steep hill...from every direction. And the hotel that Rachel stayed at was towards the top of that hill. That means that in the wee hours of the morning, Rachel faced the challenge of running down that hill, around the neighborhood (which included other hills) and then back up the steep, steep hill.

Kind of made me feel guilty...but then I had another piece of bacon and I was fine. - Pam
