Does your fitness facility have a program that sets it apart from the rest? Here's your chance to tell us about it. The winning facilities will be recognized at the Best of the Best Awards Presentation on Oct. 12, during the 2012 Club Industry Show in Las Vegas. Winners also will be featured in Club Industry magazine and on the Club Industry website.

Now in its tenth year, the Club Industry Best of the Best contest highlights excellence in fitness club programming. The contest is open to facilities of all types including for-profit (multipurpose, fitness-only, studios, sports clubs), nonprofit (YMCA, JCC) and specially targeted facilities (university, parks and rec, military, hotel, corporate, hospital/wellness and retirement communities) in the United States.

AWARD CATEGORIES
The 2012 Best of the Best Awards will consider applications in seven categories – you may nominate your facility in any or all of the categories below:*

  • - Best New Member Integration Program
  • - Best Member Retention Program
  • - Best New Member Sales Program (campaign to grow membership)
  • - Best Community-based Program (program in the community to help with local events/causes)
  • - Best Nonmember Program (program for nonmembers that takes place inside your facility)
  • - Best Children’s Program (one program rather than your entire children’s programming)
  • - Best Behavior Modification Program (i.e., nutritional, weight-loss)

HOW TO ENTER
There are three ways to submit your application:

1. Online: Submit your entry here.

2. Email. Download and complete the Best of the Best entry form. You must complete a separate form for each category you wish to enter. E-mail the form(s), along with a separate document giving the information requested on the form and electronic versions of any other supporting files (photos, marketing materials) to Brittany Keithley at brittany.keithley@penton.com by June 22.

3. Snail mail: Send four copies of the entry form for each category you wish to be considered in, along with a separate document giving the information requested on the form and any other supporting files (photos, marketing materials) to:

Brittany Keithley
Club Industry
9800 Metcalf Ave.
Overland Park, KS 66212
Attn: Best of the Best

Be sure to address all 12 of the information points listed on the entry form or your application will be disqualified. The more details (about the program's budget, revenue, goals) you provide, the better your chances of winning. See the Best of the Best entry form for other specifics.

ENTRY FEES
A fee of $60 is required for each category entered. If you would like to pay using a credit card, you can either complete a credit card payment form and e-mail it along with your entry materials to brittany.keithley@penton.com or you can print the form and send it to the postal address above.

Please note that a signature is required for the credit card form – if you are e-mailing your credit card payment form, you will either need to use a digital signature (see form for instructions) or to sign and scan the printed form.

If you would prefer to pay using a check, please make it payable to "Club Industry," and send it to the above address.

Good luck!

*Any category with fewer than three entries will not be judged. The editors reserve the right not to select a winner in a category for any reason. In either event, checks in that category will be returned.
