Dr. Kenneth Cooper

2008 Lifetime Achievement Award Goes to Dr. Kenneth H. Cooper

Dr. Kenneth H. Cooper coined the term "aerobics" in 1968, leading him to forever be known as the "Father of Aerobics." He founded the Cooper Aerobics Center, which includes a research group, a medical practice and a fitness facility. An international speaker, a one-time co-host of a radio show about fitness and author of 19 books, Cooper is still a practicing doctor at the age of 77. He has developed a new mission in life: to decrease the rate of childhood obesity.
