Eric enjoys writing the stories and issues that connect with people and build community. He has a special affinity and respect for the fitness industry because it helped him reach personal health and weight loss goals.

Eric spent nearly 10 years working in the daily newspaper industry before joining Club Industry in 2015. He covered sports at all levels in Minnesota as an award-winning sports journalist from 2005-12 in positions with the Austin Daily Herald, Owatonna People's Press, Bemidji Pioneer and St. Cloud Times. He joined The Tennessean as a digital producer in 2013. In Nashville, he worked with a talented digital team to help improve digital products before working the National Hockey League beat covering the Nashville Predators.

Eric is a Duluth, Minnesota native and graduated from St. Cloud State University in 2004 with a Bachelor's Degree in Mass Communications.

Eric lives in Colorado and enjoys technology, photography, distance hiking, golfing, skiing, hockey, and training for his next half marathon.
